After the National Duathlon Champs I had an accident while out training on my bike. I fractured 9 vertebrae and my skull. I was airlifted to hospital and fitted with a halo brace and had four vertebrae in my thoracic spine immobilised using internal scaffolding. I was in the halo brace for 3 months and spent the rest of 2014 feeling extremely grateful to be alive and able to move. Later in the season I did a couple of events for fun, links below. I did better than anyone could have hoped - I'm just so happy to be able to ride my bike at all.
